In 1875 a Gaelic mission was introduced to the Partick district for the benefit of the Gaelic-speaking residents. Initially worship was conducted in an iron church. The charge was sanctioned in 1887, but a minister was not settled until 1898, and thereafter a church and halls were erected. The congregation passed to the United Free Church in 1900 as Partick Gardner Street United Free Church. A new church was built and opened on 13 May 1905. The United Free Church united with the Established Church in 1929 and the charge at Partick became Glasgow, Gardner Street Church of Scotland. The congregation was dissolved in 2011. |
