The minister and congregation 'came out' at the Disruption of 1843 and a church was erected in Huntly Street. A new church building followed in Union Street in 1868. When the Free Church passed to the United Free Church in 1900, the congregation at Gilcomston followed suit and became Aberdeen, Gilcomston United Free Church. Not many years later, in 1929, the United Free Church passed to the Established Church, and the Session took the name of Aberdeen, Gilcomston South Church of Scotland. The Session sat in the Presbytery of Aberdeen throughout its history. The congregation was dissolved in 2015. |
