The origins of Falkirk, St James' United Presbyterian Church date back to 1898 when Rev John D. Buchan, a Congregational Church minister and his congregation joined the United Presbyertian Church. In 1900 a church and halls were built in Thornhill Road, Falkirk, and also at this time the United Presbyterian Church united with the Free Church, and the congregation at St James' passed accordingly, as Falkirk, St James' United Free Church. A further change took place when the United Free Church passed back to the Established Church in 1929, and the charge became Falkirk, St James' Church of Scotland. Around 2018 services at St James' ceased and the congregation joined in worship with Falkirk, Grahamston United Church, and the Thornhill Road building was put up for sale. |
