The Bainsford Free congregation was an offshoot of Falkirk Free Church, and services were conducted by a probationer, E.M. Rait. Initially the congregation worshipped in a house in Granary Square, then moving to old Bainsford school and afterwards to an old barn in Main Street. In 1871 the North End Mission was built and it was here that Bainsford Free Church congregation was sanctioned. The church and hall were built in 1880, with the manse following in 1894. In 1900 when the Free Church united with the United Presbyterian Church, the congregation became Falkirk Bainsford United Free Church, and passed back to the Established Church in 1929 as Falkirk Bainsford Church of Scotland. |
