In 1834 the Relief Presbytery of Glasgow sanctioned the building of a new church at Larkhall, and in May 1836 the new church was opened. Due to the growth of the population around Larkhall, the church was enlarged by the addition of galleries, in 1845. At the union of the Relief and Secession churches in 1847, the church at Larkhall became Larkhall United Presbyterian Church. Further unions saw the charge pass successively to the United Free Church in 1900 as Larkhall Trinity United Free, and to the Established Church as Larkhall Trinity Church of Scotland in 1929. |
