The kirk session of Blackridge, which was formerly the United Free Church congregation of Blackridge, united following the 1929 union of the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church with the Blackridge portion of the parish of Armadale West. The former mission church within Armadale West, located at Blackridge, became the parish church of the united session and the former United Free church was sold in 1931. A link was later established in 1978 with Harthill St Andrew's. The Kirk Session sat within the Presbytery of Bathgate until 1964, when the General Assembly changed the name of the presbytery to that of Livingston and Bathgate and, following the restructuring of the Presbyteries in 1976, it became part of the Presbytery of West Lothian. |
