In 1900, the year in which the United Free Church came into being, there existed only a mission station at Gullane, in 1906 however the congregation was granted full status and Gullane United Free church was opened two years later in 1908. In 1929, upon the union of the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland, Gullane United Free was renamed Gullane St Peter's Church of Scotland, and a number of years thereafter in 1938 a union was established between Gullane St Peter's and Gullane St Andrew's, to form the session of Gullane Church of Scotland. Following this local union the former St Peter's Church was converted for use as church halls. The congregation of Gullane United Free and of Gullane St Peter's sat within the jurisdiction of the Presbytery of Haddington and Dunbar. |
