The first meetings were held in the hall of Gorgie Free Church until May 1897 when they opened their own hall. A church was built just after the Union in 1900 and named the Cairns Memorial Church. In 1929 the congregation decided to keep its name when uniting with the Church of Scotland. Later, on 5 August 1979, Cairns Memorial united with Tynecastle church to form Gorgie Parish Church (CH2/1609). |
