At the Disruption of 1843, the minister of Flisk, Dr J W Taylor, adhered to the Free Church. With him were adherents from Flisk and Creich and the adjacent parts of Balmerino and Kilmany. These Free Church followers were formed into a congregation to be called Flisk and Creich Free Church, under the ministry of Dr Taylor, and a manse was built the following year. In 1900 at the union of the Free Church and the United Presbyterian Church, the congregation became Flisk and Creich United Free Church. After the union of the United Free Church and Established Church in 1929 the charge became Creich Church of Scotland and was subsequently linked with Moonzie on April 1947, although the linking was terminated in December 1971 in favour of a union with the Church of Scotland charges at Flisk and at Kilmany. The united charge was known as Creich, Flisk and Kilmany Church of Scotland and was linked with Monimail on 6 February 1983. |
