Summertown Church, Glasgow, began at the Disruption as the Free Church for Govan. The original building, on the site of the later graving dock, dated from 1843, with a successor in Summertown Road (1873), thereafter known as Govan Summertown Free (later United Free) Church. It terminated in 1966 on uniting with St Columba Copland Road as St Columba Summertown. As a Church of Scotland charge it was in the presbytery of Glasgow and the synod of Clydesdale. |
