Tron St Anne?s Church, Glasgow, originated at the Disruption, when the minister and congregation of the burgh Tron Church left to join the Free Church. Their new building (1844) was on the east side of Dundas Street (the site later occupied by Dundas Street bus station). The congregation was known variously as Tron St Anne?s, Free Tron Church and (after a split in 1857) as St Mary?s (Tron) Free Church. It terminated in 1940 on uniting with St George?s as St George?s Tron. As a Church of Scotland charge it was in the presbytery of Glasgow and the synod of Clydesdale. |
