The United Presbyterian Church was formed in 1847 by the union of the Relief Church with the United Secession Church. It was superseded in 1900 by the United Free Church, formed by the union of the United Presbyterian Church with the Free Church. The United Presbyterian Magazine, commenced in 1847, was the denominational magazine of the United Presbyterian Church and, as such, was the successor to the denominational magazines of the constituent bodies of that Church. The Christian Magazine was started in 1796, as the magazine for the Burgher and Antiburgher Churches of the Secession. This was succeeded by the Christian Repository, the Christian Monitor, and the Theological Magazine. The magazine of the Relief Church was the Relief Magazine. |
