Bridgeton Free Church, Glasgow, began at the Disruption, when the minister of a chapel of ease and most of his congregation left the Church of Scotland. They built a new church in John Street (later Muslin Street), Bridgeton, which opened in 1849. The church terminated in 1932 on uniting with Barrowfield Edgar Memorial as Bridgeton West and Barrowfield. As a Church of Scotland charge it was in the presbytery of Glasgow and the synod of Clydesdale. |
