In 1791 an application was made to the Relief Presbytery to form a new congregation in Glasgow. The application was approved and services began in 1792 when the first minister of East Campbell Street Relief congregation was inducted. The congregation became part of the United Presbyterian Church in 1847, and subsequently passed to the United Free Church as Campbell Street East United Free Church in 1900. 1926 brought a union with Sydney Place to form Sydney Place and East Campbell Street United Free Church, and the united charge passed back to the Established Church in 1929 as Sydney Place and East Campbell Street Church of Scotland. A further union took place with Wellpark Church of Scotland in 1949 to form Trinity-Duke Street Church of Scotland. |
