Kirriemuir Associate, United Original Secession Church was an offshoot from a congregation based at Dumbarrow. Application was made to the Antiburgher Presbytery of Perth in 1772 and a meeting house was erected in the following year. The minister and most of the congregation separated from the General Associate Synod in 1806 and erected a new church. It passed to the United Presbyterian and United Free Churches, in the latter case as Kirriemuir West, which united with Kirriemuir Bank Street as Kirriemuir First United Free in 1914. The United Free charge was in the presbytery of Arbroath and Forfar and the synod of Fife and Angus. |
