Kilbirnie West United Free Church originated as a Reformed Presbyterian congregation, known as Kilbirnie and formed by disjunction in 1824. A church built in 1825 was replaced in 1888. It passed to the Free Church at the union of 1876, as Kilbirnie West, and to the United Free Church in 1900. The Church of Scotland charge, which was in the presbytery of Ardrossan and the synod of Ayr, united with Kilbirnie East as Kilbirnie St Columba's in 1964. |
