Tarbert United Free Church originated at the Disruption, when a congregation was formed in Tarbert Loch Fyne with a church built in 1844. The congregation transferred from the presbytery of Kintyre to that of Inveraray in 1879. It passed to the United Free Church, but the building was allocated to the Free Church and a replacement was erected and opened in 1905. The Church of Scotland charge, Tarbert East, united with Tarbert West as Tarbert in 1943. It was in the presbytery of Inveraray and the synod of Argyll. |
