Gourock United Presbyterian Church was formed in 1848 and the first minister ordained in 1849. It passed to the United Free Church as Gourock Ashton. The church was rebuilt after a fire in 1927. The Church of Scotland charge, which was in the presbytery of Greenock and the synod of Clydesdale, united with Gourock Old as Old Gourock and Ashton in 1989. |
