St George’s Road Reformed Presbyterian Church, Glasgow, originated in 1859, when a minority of the congregation of West Campbell Street Church dissented from the election of a new minister and organised as a separate congregation. They built a church in Grant Street, near St George’s Cross, in 1869 and from 1874 referred to themselves as Grant Street Reformed Presbyterian Church. They joined the Free Church as part of the union in 1876 as Glasgow, St George's Road Free Church, and moved successively to the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland as Glasgow, Grant Street. |
