Maitland Free Church, Glasgow, originated in Florence Street, Hutchesontown, and was named after a Miss Maitland, whose bequest financed the church building in Rose Street (1862). The congregation later joined the Church of Scotland (see Abbotsford Chalmers), and after lying empty for a time the building was re-acquired by the Free Church and sanctioned in 1875 as Rose Street. |
