Alexander Spence, the minister of St. Clement?s Church, Aberdeen at the time of the Disruption, came out and joined the Free Church and was made minister of the new St. Clement?s Free Church. He died in 1890, only a decade before the Free Church was united with the United Presbyterian Church to form the United Free Church. After the Union of the United Free Church with the Church of Scotland in 1929, St Clement?s United Free Church became St Clement's West Church within the Church of Scotland, which was united with St Clement?s East (the original St Clement's congregation) on 3 October 1963 under the name St Clement's. |
