Tollcross Central Church, Glasgow, originated as Tollcross Relief Church, an offshoot of Shettleston which established a separate identity and built a church in 1805. It became successively Tollcross Main Street United Presbyterian (1847) and Tollcross Central United Free (1900). Its church building in Drumover Drive was erected in 1905. From 1977 to 1983 Tollcross Central was linked with Tollcross Park, a former United Free church whose first minister was appointed in 1902. As a Church of Scotland charge it was in the presbytery of Glasgow and the synod of Clydesdale. |
