Urray Free Church was established at the Disruption, when the minister and a large part of his congregation adhered to the Free Church. A church was built in 1844 (replaced 1861). It passed successively to the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland, in the latter case as Urray West, which united in 1937 with Urray East as Urray and Kilchrist. The Church of Scotland charge was in the presbytery of Chanonry and Dingwall and the synod of Ross, Sutherland and Caithness. |
