Kirkintilloch Park Church, Dunbartonshire, originated in 1766 with the adherence of a group of parishioners of Kirkintilloch to the Secession. They built a meeting house and continued until the 1840s, when theological differences led to a schism. The minority joined the United Presbyterian Church in 1846 and eventually built a new church in Kerr Street (1855). This was Kirkintilloch United Presbyterian Church, later Kirkintilloch Park United Free Church. It was linked with Torrance in 1983. As a Church of Scotland charge it was in the presbytery of Glasgow and the synod of Clydesdale. |
