Falkirk Free Church originated with an Original Secession congregation which joined the Church of Scotland in 1839 but came out in 1843. A church in Garrison Place was opened in 1844 (replaced 1896). It passed successively to the United Free Church, as Falkirk St Andrew's, and once more to the Church of Scotland. Falkirk St Andrew's West was formed in 1990 by the union of Falkirk St Andrew's and Falkirk West. The Church of Scotland charge was in the presbytery of Linlithgow and Falkirk and the synod of Lothian and Tweeddale. |
