Strachan Free Church began at the Disruption, when the minister and part of his congregation adhered to the Free Church and built a church and manse in the same year. The congregation passed to the United Free Church, which decided that no new appointment to the ministry should be made after 1916. The charge passed to the Church of Scotland, but without a settled pastorate, and united with Strachan Old as Strachan in 1950. It was in the Church of Scotland presbytery of Deeside and the synod of Aberdeen. |
