Rose Street Church, Glasgow, originated as a Free Church in Florence Street, Hutchesontown, built in 1862 and known at first as Maitland Free Church. The congregation later joined the Church of Scotland, and after lying empty for a time the building was re-acquired by the Free Church and sanctioned in 1875 as Rose Street Free (later United Free) Church. It terminated in 1947 on uniting with Erskine Old as Erskine Rose. As a Church of Scotland charge it was in the presbytery of Glasgow and the synod of Clydesdale. |
