The Kirk Session of Galashiels South was originally established as a United Presbyterian Church in c1877 within the Presbytery of Melrose. In 1900 it became part of the Presbytery of Galashiels of the United Free Church, and in 1929, part of the Presbytery of Melrose within the Church of Scotland. In 1936, Galashiels South united with Galashiels Trinity to form Galashiels St. Cuthbert?s. In 1975, Galashiels St. Cuthbert?s united with Galashiels Ladhope to form Galashiels Ladhope St. Cuthbert?s, renamed Galashiels St. Aidan?s in 1981. |
