Dunfermline, St Margaret's United Secession Church originated in 1825 when a group of members of Dunfermline Queen Anne Street Burgher Church successfully petitioned for disjunction and took over an existing Methodist church in Maygate. It passed successively to the United Presbyterian and United Free Churches and in 1929 to the Church of Scotland. The Church of Scotland charge is in the presbytery of Dunfermline (formerly Dunfermline and Kinross) and was in the synod of Fife until the abolition of synods in 1993. |
