Coalburn Free Church began with services in 1893, when a temporary iron church was erected. The charge was sanctioned in 1895. It passed successively to the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland. In 1998 it was linked with Lesmahagow Old. The Church of Scotland charge is in the presbytery of Lanark and was in the synod of Clydesdale until the abolition of synods in 1993. |
