Drymen East was originally an Antiburgher (General Associate Synod) congregation formed c 1818. The first minister was ordained in 1822 two years after the two Associated Synods had joined to form the United Secession Church. In 1847 the church became Dollar United Presbyterian Church in the Presbytery of Dumbarton, then in 1900 became part of the United Free Church. On the union of the United Free church with the Church of Scotland in 1929 the church was known as Drymen East. In 1935 Drymen Old, the original Church of Scotland Church, was united with Drymen East to form Drymen Church. |
