Wishaw Relief Church originated with a petition to Glasgow Relief Presbytery in 1822. The church was opened in the following year. It transferred successively to the United Presbyterian Church, to the United Free Church (as Wishaw Thornlie) and to the Church of Scotland. The Church of Scotland charge is in the presbytery of Hamilton and was, until the abolition of synods in 1993, in the synod of Clydesdale. |
