Clydebank United Presbyterian Church was formed as a congregation in 1874, when Glasgow United Presbyterian presbytery agreed to open a preaching station at Dalmuir, later known as Clydebank Union Mission Station. The church was opened two years later. It transferred to the United Free Church as Clydebank Union, and in 1929 to the Church of Scotland. In 1974 it was linked with Boquhanran (CH2/679), and in 1976 the two united as Clydebank St Andrew's, which in turn united with Clydebank Kilbowie (CH2/1508) as Clydebank Kilbowie St Andrew's in 1990. The Church of Scotland charge was in the presbytery of Dumbarton and the synod of Clydesdale.
