Aberdeen, Belmont Street United Associate Church began with an Antiburgher group which petitioned the Presbytery of the North for supply of sermon in 1772. The Belmont Street church was built in 1779 and the first minister inducted in 1782. It passed successively to the United Presbyterian and United Free Churches and united with Aberdeen East as Aberdeen East and Belmont Street in 1921. The United Free charge was in the presbytery and synod of Aberdeen. |
