New Leeds United Presbyterian Church originated with a preaching station opened in New Leeds by Stewartfield presbytery of the United Secession Church in 1831, with a church built in the following year. The congregation was formed in 1843. It passed successively to the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland. From 1929 to 1934 it was linked with Strichen North, and from 1934 to 1939 with Rathen West, and in 1940 it united with Kininmonth as Kininmonth and New Leeds. The Church of Scotland charge was in the presbytery of Deer and synod of Aberdeen. |
