Edinburgh, Roxburgh Free Church was formed at the Disruption, when the minister of Edinburgh, Roxburgh and many of his congregation adhered to the Free Church. A new church in Hill Square opened in 1847. In 1886 Roxburgh and McCrie united as Roxburgh-McCrie, which passed to the United Free Church, but united with Newington United Free in 1920 as Newington. The United Free charge was in the United Free presbytery of Edinburgh and synod of Lothian. |
