Tighnabruaich Free Church originated with services held in the open air until 1859, thereafter in a temporary wooden church under Kilfinan Free Church. A stone church was built in 1863 and the charge sanctioned in 1877. It passed to the United Free Church, which reduced its status in 1922, but restored it two year later. At the union it became a Church of Scotland charge as Tighnabruaich East, but immediately united with Tighnabruaich West as Tighnabruaich. The United Free charge was in the presbytery of Dunoon and the synod of Argyll. |
