Watten United Free Church originated at the Disruption, when the minister and many of the congregation adhered to the Free Church and erected a new church and manse soon afterwards. It passed successively to the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland, as Watten South, which united with Watten North as Watten in 1938. The Church of Scotland charge was in the presbytery of Caithness and the synod of Ross, Sutherland and Caithness. |
