Monifieth Free Church was formed at the Disruption by the minister of the parish and many of the congregation. A new church building was erected in 1846-7. It passed to the United Free Church as Monifieth North, later Monifieth North and Newbigging, which united with Monikie in 1967. The Church of Scotland charge was in the presbytery of Dundee and the synod of Angus and Mearns. |
