Crailing Free Church originated at the Disruption, when the minister of the parish church adhered to the Free Church. A church was erected in the same year (replaced 1901). It passed successively to the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland, in the latter case as Crailing Samuel Rutherford Memorial, which united with Crailing Old as Crailing in 1931. The Church of Scotland charge was in the presbytery of Jedburgh and Kelso and the synod of Merse and Teviotdale. |
