Amulree Free Church originated at the Disruption as a preaching station with a church and school, for which the minister of Kenmore was responsible. Although officially termed Amulree Free Church, locally, it was sometimes referred to as Glenquaich Free. The congregation passed to he United Free Church as Amulree in 1900, and was transferred to the Presbytery of Perth in 1908. In 1929 when the United Free Church passed back to the Established Church, the mission station at Amulree, known also as Glenquaich mission, sat under the ministry of Rev John Douglas Paterson of Dalguise and Strathbraan Church of Scotland. In 1947 a local union took place and the mission became part of Amulree and Strathbraan Church of Scotland.The Church of Scotland charge was in the presbytery of Dunkeld and synod of Perth and Stirling. |
