Wishaw Free Church began in 1872 with the hire of a hall for services and the organisation of a preaching station. The charge was sanctioned in 1873. It passed successively to the United Free Church, as Wishaw Chalmers, and to the Church of Scotland. The Church of Scotland charge is in the presbytery of Hamilton and was in the synod of Clydesdale until the abolition of synods in 1993. |
