Duns South United Free Church began as Duns South Relief Church, which was apparently formed in the early 1760s. A minister was inducted in 1767. It passed to the United Presbyterian Church, uniting with Duns West United Presbyterian, a former Burgher church, in 1895 as Duns South, and to the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland. Duns Parish was formed in 1976 by the union of Duns Old and Boston with Duns South. The Church of Scotland charge was in the presbytery of Duns and the synod of Merse and Teviotdale. |
