Kirkbean and Southwick Free Church was originally established as a preaching station, but then sanctioned as a charge in 1844. A church was built and opened in the following year. It passed successively to the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland, in the latter case as Mainsriddle, but was dissolved in 1933. The Church of Scotland charge was in the presbytery and synod of Dumfries. |
