Kinning Park United Free Church, Glasgow, began with a petition from Free Church residents in the area in 1862. The church, in Scotland Street at Shields Road, dated from the following year and was known as Kinning Park Free (later United Free) Church. It terminated in 1919 on uniting with West Scotland Street as Kinning Park United Free Church.The Kirk Sessions of presbyterian churches were modelled on those of the established church.
