Kirkintilloch St Andrew?s Church, Dunbartonshire, originated in 1766 with the adherence of a group of parishioners of Kirkintilloch to the Secession. They built a meeting house and continued until the 1840s, when theological differences led to a schism. The majority eventually joined the Free Church as Marshall Free Church. On the construction of a new church in Townhead in 1873, they became Kirkintilloch St Andrew?s Free (later United Free) Church. The church terminated in 1961 on uniting with Kirkintilloch St David?s as Kirkintilloch St David?s and St Andrew?s. As a Church of Scotland charge it was in the presbytery of Glasgow and the synod of Clydesdale. |
