Gartly Free Church was formed at the Disruption, when the minister and many of his congregation adhered to the Free Church and erected a church and manse. The congregation passed successively to the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland, in the latter case as Gartly West, which entered a local union with Gartly St Andrew's as Gartly in 1933. The Church of Scotland charge was in the presbytery of Strathbogie and the synod of Aberdeen. |
