Fossoway Free Church originated at the Disruption. The minister of the parish first adhered to the Free Church, but changed his mind and returned to the established church. A congregation was then organised by Kinross presbytery, a church erected and a minister called in 1844. The United Free Church charge united with Muckhart as Fossoway and Muckhart in 1921, but the union was dissolved in 1923. The Church of Scotland charge, Fossoway Devonside, united with Fossoway St Serf's as Fossoway St Serf's and Devonside in 1964. It was in the presbytery of Stirling and Dunblane until 1932, thereafter Dunfermline and Kinross, and in the synod of Fife. |
