Stratherrick United Free Church originated at the Disruption, when almost all the population adhered to the Free Church. A minister was settled and a church erected in 1844 (rebuilt 1871). It suffered from secessions, including one over the Declaratory Act of 1892, but it passed successively to the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland. The Church of Scotland charge, which was in the presbytery of Inverness and the synod of Moray, united with Boleskine as Stratherrick and Boleskine in 1934. |
