Lochgilphead Reformed Presbyterian Church was formed as a mission station in 1831 and had only a sporadic existence for a time thereafter. In 1845 a church was opened and in 1851 a minister ordained, but the congregation remained very small. It passed to the Free Church as Lochgilphead Martyrs', which united with another former free Church, Lochgilphead United Free, as Lochgilphead in 1905. The United Free charge was in the presbytery of Inveraray and the synod of Argyll. |
